You can find free information and sample fill-in-the-blank documents online (please don’t use those!). TV personalities offer websites with fast and cheap options. Attorneys offer a wide range of price and service options.
We believe in providing a high quality service for an affordable price. With this in mind, we established a reasonable fixed-pricing model aimed at matching the real cost of time and effort on our part with the asset complexity and life circumstances of our clients.
We start with a complimentary consultation. Set an appointment and get to know us and let us get to know your estate and family situation. If you are satisfied with our competence and service model, we asses the cost of completing the estate plan using the following guidelines:
Standard Estate Plan - $2,499 (most families and individuals match this plan)
This pricing is for clients who have an estate typical of most families and individuals. An individual or couple who recently purchased a home is the most common situation compelling a need to establish an estate plan. Individuals or couples who maintain investment accounts, own real estate, have minor children, or do not have children and need to name friends, relatives, or professionals to one day manage their affairs and estate are all highly likely to match this plan.
Complex Estate Plan - $3,999
This pricing is for clients who have an estate requiring considerable research, document review, and document drafting. A complex estate would describe instances of multiple real property assets or other assets requiring extensive property title research, multiple entrepreneurial ventures or business interests requiring substantial review of entity documents, multiple prior marriages requiring substantial review of divorce decrees, irrevocable trusts and complicated tax and insurance planning, and special needs trusts requiring extensive review and integration of public programs with personal assets.
Hourly Estate Planning - $250 per hour, billed appropriately.
This pricing is for clients who may only need to change a few items of their estate plan. Examples include amendments to a trust, redrafting and executing a specific document, funding the trust through a quitclaim deed, or young families that only need assistance drafting a will to name guardians for children.
Estate Planning includes the drafting of the following documents:
The Will (for both spouses/partners as applicable)
The Trust or Trusts
The Certificate of Trust
The Durable Power of Attorney (for both spouses/partners as applicable)
The Advance Health Care Directive (for both spouses/partners as applicable)
The Quitclaim Deed (when applicable)
Estate Planning includes assistance* with the following ancillary steps:
The signing and notarization for all documents
Assistance with funding the trust
Asset review and title changing
Beneficiary review of retirement and insurance policies
*Assistance meaning we will strongly encourage and follow up on all items. However, clients who postpone, procrastinate, or otherwise obstruct actually completing full implementation of the estate plan will eventually be notified of the termination of representation. Our goal is to fully implement the advice and documents we provide in all cases.
